The story is set in the small town of Astoria, Oregon, and revolves around a group of friends known as the Goonies. The Goonies consist of Mikey (Sean Astin), Brand (Josh Brolin), Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Mouth (Corey Feldman), and Data (Jonathan Ke Quan), who are all very close friends. Their homes are threatened with foreclosure because a construction company plans to build a golf course in the area.
When the Goonies come across Mikey’s old treasure map and an old pirate legend, they decide to follow the map in the hopes of finding the legendary “One-Eyed Willy’s” treasure, which would provide the necessary funds to save their homes. The children embark on an incredible adventure into a cave filled with traps and dangers.
During their journey, they encounter various challenges, including a dangerous criminal known as “The Fratellis” and must use their wits and teamwork to survive. Ultimately, they discover the treasure, but their adventure takes a terrifying turn when they encounter One-Eyed Willy himself.
“Goonies” is an adventure filled with humor, suspense, and heartwarming moments. It remains a cult classic known for its lovable characters and adventurous spirit.
