Whiplash

Andrew Neyman is an ambitious young jazz drummer determined to rise to the top of his elite conservatory on the US East Coast. Andrew craves recognition for his skills. Terence Fletcher – a music teacher known as much for his skills as a teacher of the gifted as for his creepy teaching methods – leads the school’s best jazz band.

Fletcher notices Andrew’s talents, transfers the young musician to his band, and at the same time changes his life forever. Andrew’s passionate pursuit of perfection quickly turns into an obsession as his merciless teacher pushes him to the limits of his abilities – and ultimately madness.

Cruella

The Baroness is a fashion legend who is both extravagantly chic and deadly cool. Their encounter brings out revelations and sets in motion a chain of events, which result in Estella unleashing her diabolical side and hatching into the flamboyant, fashionable and vengeful Cruella. A film based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic work about four sisters, Amy, Jo, Beth and Meg, and their lives in America during the Civil War.

The director is Gerta Gerwig and the actors are e.g. Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep. Movie won an Oscar from Best Costume Design.

Rango

When Rango, a lost family pet, accidentally winds up in the gritty, gun-slinging town of Dirt, the less-than-courageous lizard suddenly finds he stands out. Welcomed as the last hope the town has been waiting for, new Sheriff Rango is forced to play his new role to the hilt. Director Gore Verbinski. Voice actors Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher ja Timothy Olyphant etc.

The Salesman

Forced out of their apartment due to dangerous works on a neighboring building, Emad and Rana move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. An incident linked to the previous tenant will dramatically change the young couple’s life.

Shahab Hosseini and Taraneh Alidoosti, delivered powerful performances in their respective roles and received critical acclaim for their work.

The Salesman was awarded the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

The events take place in the year 1926, when Scamander has just completed his worldwide expedition to find and document a special group of magical creatures. However, the planned short stop is prolonged, when a non-magician named Jacob, a lost magic briefcase, and Scamander’s runaway wonders enter the picture, which tend to cause harm to wizards and non-magicians alike.
