Risto

The beloved actor Risto Kaskilahti becomes quadriplegic in a work accident. As a result of the accident, he receives substantial financial compensation and a massive outpouring of sympathy from the public. Suddenly, there’s money for everything Risto’s young and beautiful wife has ever wished for. Thus, the wife quits her dull job and becomes an artist.

What happens when Risto gradually realizes he is starting to recover? The star adored by the public is healing, but how can he announce this publicly? Will the favorite actor have to portray a paralyzed man for the rest of his life to avoid losing everything?

Supercool

Supercool is a comedy film that tells the story of a teenage boy named Neil, who wishes he could be “cool” for just one day. Together with his friend Gilbert, Neil lives an ordinary high school life until one night his wish comes true: he wakes up the next day completely transformed and suddenly “supercool.” This leads to a series of amusing and unexpected events as Neil tries to navigate his new life.

A young girl named Emilia gets superpowers from being bitten by her pet guinea pig, which come in handy when the herrings of the Baltic Sea rise up in rebellion to save the sea from pollution. The film is based on the book series “Emilia’s diaries” and more specifically on the book “Supermarsu saves the herrings”, written by Paula Noronen. The book in question was nominated for the Finlandia junior prize in 2009.

The educational material of the school cinema deals with superheroes, writing a diary, bullying at school, social relations in the class, the Baltic Sea and its species, and conservation. The learning material is aimed at primary schools and primary education.

This causes a quarrel between the brothers. Matti is secretly engaged to the woman next door, Aino, and Esko starts chasing her too as his own.
