EPUT

EPUT is a film about a giant of Finnish rock, whose music everyone knows, but the stories behind the songs are known by few. The film takes the viewer through the band’s history, starting from their childhood years. Through the film, Eput take the audience to places where cameras have never been allowed before and openly share their history, including its difficult subjects. EPUT is not just a fan film about the band. It is also a touching depiction of brotherhood, as two very different brothers try to fit into the same band. Above all, it is a portrayal of a passionate desire to play, the fierce drive to make music that, in the beginning, overcame even their playing skills.

Kung Fu Panda

The film received significant recognition, winning four Jussi Gala trophies: Best Sound Design, Best Leading Actor, Best Editing, and Best Makeup Design.

“Ghostbusters” is an American comedy film released in 1984, which follows the story of a company founded by four men specialized in paranormal phenomena, known as Ghostbusters.

The story begins with Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), a former professor at the New York University’s Department of Parapsychology, working alongside his colleagues Raymond “Ray” Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis). When they lose their jobs at the university, they decide to start their own business called Ghostbusters, with the purpose of investigating and capturing paranormal phenomena.

Ghostbusters equips themselves with unique proton beams and traps to capture ghosts and other supernatural entities. The business starts to thrive when they are hired for their first job, investigating paranormal activity at the New York Public Library. From then on, they encounter many ghosts and other supernatural threats in the city.

The plot of the film also introduces the threat of Gozer The Gozerian, an ancient Sumerian deity. To prevent Gozer’s return, the Ghostbusters must join forces and confront great danger to save the city.

“Ghostbusters” is a comedy that blends humor, horror, and supernatural elements, and it has become a classic thanks to its hilarious plot and the iconic theme song, “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr. The movie was a massive hit and remains popular over the years.

In 1985, the film won a BAFTA Award for Best Original Song.

“Hotel Transylvania” is an animated film released in 2012, which tells the story of monsters and other supernatural characters who vacation at Dracula’s-owned amusement resort called “Hotel Transylvania.” This hotel is designed to provide a safe place for monsters to relax, far away from the human world.

The plot of the film revolves around Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler), who is the owner of the hotel and a father. He is hosting his daughter Mavis’s (voiced by Selena Gomez) 118th birthday party at the hotel. Mavis has always lived at the hotel and has never been to the human world. She has a dream of leaving the hotel and experiencing the world for herself.

Everything changes when a young human named Jonathan (voiced by Andy Samberg) accidentally stumbles into Hotel Transylvania. Dracula tries to keep Jonathan away from Mavis, but soon he realizes that the young man isn’t as bad as he initially thought. Jonathan and Mavis start to like each other, and Dracula has to balance love and safety.

The plot of the film follows Dracula’s attempts to prevent Mavis and Jonathan’s relationship, but at the same time, it raises questions about friendship, prejudice, and the importance of family. Ultimately, the story moves towards reconciliation and understanding of differences. “Hotel Transylvania” offers comedy, humor, and monstrous adventures for the whole family.

A young girl named Emilia gets superpowers from being bitten by her pet guinea pig, which come in handy when the herrings of the Baltic Sea rise up in rebellion to save the sea from pollution. The film is based on the book series “Emilia’s diaries” and more specifically on the book “Supermarsu saves the herrings”, written by Paula Noronen. The book in question was nominated for the Finlandia junior prize in 2009.

The educational material of the school cinema deals with superheroes, writing a diary, bullying at school, social relations in the class, the Baltic Sea and its species, and conservation. The learning material is aimed at primary schools and primary education.
