Sieniretki tells the story of PJ, a screenwriter facing challenges in his career, and his best friend Jam, who is a car dealer. Both are tired of their everyday life and together they decide to rent a cabin in the Finnish archipelago. They have a bag of mushrooms with them so that they would certainly experience new interesting experiences.
However, the weekend-long vacation gets out of hand when they experience all kinds of challenges on their trip.

A small African boy ends up in the French port city of Le Havre in a shipping container full of other refugees. The boy manages to escape and while hiding from the authorities, he meets a shoe polisher who wants to help the boy get to his destination: London to his mother. At the same time, the shoe polisher’s wife is diagnosed with a serious illness.

Star Boys (Kaiken se kestää) tells the story of a family from Oulu in the 1970s, which has three generations. The events are described through the youngest of the family, two adolescent boys. They are at a stage where the boys are also looking for their own identity. Parents try to raise their children without the old ways of their parents, but as a result, the children’s development is at risk. The story nicely describes how parents are also vulnerable and individuals who make wrong decisions. The father of the family (Tapio) has a secret affair with the mother of a family acquaintance.

Agent Strickland of the laboratory performs torturous experiments on the creature, as a result of which the creature almost perishes. An unexpected love story develops between Elisa and the utopian water creature and Elisa decides to release the creature.
The film was significantly awarded four Oscars: best direction, cinematography, music, and set design. Movie was also awarded at the Bafta Gala.

A young girl named Emilia gets superpowers from being bitten by her pet guinea pig, which come in handy when the herrings of the Baltic Sea rise up in rebellion to save the sea from pollution. The film is based on the book series “Emilia’s diaries” and more specifically on the book “Supermarsu saves the herrings”, written by Paula Noronen. The book in question was nominated for the Finlandia junior prize in 2009.
The educational material of the school cinema deals with superheroes, writing a diary, bullying at school, social relations in the class, the Baltic Sea and its species, and conservation. The learning material is aimed at primary schools and primary education.
