Thomas Anderson is the designer of The Matrix video game trilogy, who feels trapped in a recurring life cycle. He regularly visits a psychiatrist in an attempt to understand his situation. Thomas is drawn to a woman who frequents a nearby café because she strongly resembles Trinity, a character from his gaming world.
Everything feels meaningless, and he believes even the face he sees in the mirror is wrong at times. One day, as Thomas’s past becomes more distressing than ever, a person identifying as Morpheus arrives with two pills in hand. Morpheus presents a choice: continue in the same loop forever or take the pill of truth?
