For media educator

Interstellar is a spectacular and grandiose science fiction film, which can feel quite heavy even for its almost three-hour duration. The looming end of the world and intensively depicted space travel and the smallness of man in the middle of the cosmos also make the viewing experience powerful. The characters in the film represent bravery, heroism and the endless curiosity and ingenuity of mankind, which ultimately saves the world. The film, set in the future, shows the destruction that threatens the earth, but does not particularly highlight the human contribution to environmental destruction, and therefore does not, for example, encourage people to take responsibility for the environment. Mainly, the film encourages to trust in the superior intelligence of man in solving problems, but on the other hand, it also brings out the importance of perseverance, self-belief, love and the connection between people. Family values play a central role in the film, and women are scientists and heroes equal to men. (Source Media-avain.fi)
