Shrek

“Shrek” is an animated film released in 2001. It tells the story of a green, yet kind-hearted ogre named Shrek, who lives alone and unappreciated in a swamp. However, Shrek’s peace is disturbed when the expulsion of fairy tale creatures is ordered to his swamp by the ruler of Duloc, Lord Farquaad.

When Shrek and Donkey arrive at Princess Fiona’s castle, they realize that Fiona is not quite an ordinary princess. Along the way, Shrek and Fiona grow closer, but Shrek soon faces the truth about Farquaad’s true intentions.

“Shrek” is an adventure filled with humor, romance, and twists related to the world of fairy tale creatures. It has become known for its memorable characters, clever dialogue, and unique storytelling.

“Shrek” won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 2001 Academy Awards. This was the first time the award for Best Animated Feature was presented, and “Shrek” was the first film to be honored in this category.

Breakthrough

Doctors were preparing to inform the family of John’s passing, but after his mother’s fervent prayer, a miracle occurred: John’s heart began beating again.

The Prince of Egypt

The movie is based on the story of Moses from the Bible. It follows Moses’ life as he faces challenges and trials while trying to free the Hebrews from slavery under the rule of the Egyptian Pharaoh.

The island is lovely, but sorrowful memories come to Peppi’s mind when it turns out that Aino Kaukovaara, the younger sister of Sampo who fell from the ship, is working at the local cottage village for the summer. Strange things begin to happen on the island, and Peppi realizes that the nightmare that started on the ship continues. When one of the resort’s employees is found dead, it becomes clear that the avenger is now even more bloodthirsty. Peppi’s worst fears come true, and everyone must struggle for their lives. Will evil prevail, or will the nightmare finally end…

Nightmare – Painajainen merellä

Peppi embarks on a long-awaited cruise with her friends. In the cheerful atmosphere of the beginning of the voyage, Peppi encounters old acquaintances, which also bring unpleasant memories from the past. The merry atmosphere soon turns into a mixture of fear and uncertainty as strange occurrences begin to unfold on the ship, and members of the party go missing. The film features actors who are currently or have been part of the Salatut Elämät TV series.

The movie was awarded the Audience Favorite Certificate at the Jussi Awards Gala.
