Star Wars

1977 | 121 min | K-12 | action, adventure, sci-fi

The Jedi Knights have been wiped out and the Emperor rules the galaxy with an iron fist. A small group of rebels dares to resist and steal the Emperor’s most powerful weapon, the secret blueprints of the battle station Death Star. The Emperor’s most loyal servant, Darth Vader, is tasked with finding the blueprints and locating the Rebels’ secret base.

The captured leader of the rebels, Princess Leia manages to send a signal for help, which ends up in the hands of an unassuming country boy, Luke Skywalker. Defying his fate, Luke rises to the challenge and sets out to save the princess and help the rebels fight the Emperor. Luke is accompanied by unforgettable allies: the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, the blooming Han Solo, the loyal Chewbacca, and the droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO. The film won a whopping 6 Oscars.
