“Shrek” is an animated film released in 2001. It tells the story of a green, yet kind-hearted ogre named Shrek, who lives alone and unappreciated in a swamp. However, Shrek’s peace is disturbed when the expulsion of fairy tale creatures is ordered to his swamp by the ruler of Duloc, Lord Farquaad.
Shrek wants to regain his peace, so he strikes a deal with Farquaad: he agrees to rescue Princess Fiona, so that Farquaad can marry her and Shrek can get his swamp back. On the journey to save the princess, Shrek receives help from a donkey named Donkey, who accompanies him on his adventures.
When Shrek and Donkey arrive at Princess Fiona’s castle, they realize that Fiona is not quite an ordinary princess. Along the way, Shrek and Fiona grow closer, but Shrek soon faces the truth about Farquaad’s true intentions.

The year is 1933. “Gremlins” (translated as “Riiviöt” in Finnish) is a 1984 American horror-comedy film directed by Joe Dante and written by Chris Columbus. Steven Spielberg served as an executive producer. The film follows the horror experiences faced by a young man named Billy Peltzer and his family in a small town called Kingston Falls.
The plot begins when Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) receives a cute little creature as a Christmas gift, known as a “Mogwai.” Mogwai is a small, furry creature that must be cared for very carefully: they should not be exposed to bright light, they must not come into contact with water, and they must not be fed after midnight. Billy’s father purchased the Mogwai as a gift from the town’s eccentric collector.
When Billy’s disobedient cousin accidentally spills water on the Mogwai, it results in the creation of more Mogwai creatures, which are much more mischievous and less friendly than the original. These new forms are called Gremlins, and they wreak havoc and chaos in the town.

“Hotel Transylvania” is an animated film released in 2012, which tells the story of monsters and other supernatural characters who vacation at Dracula’s-owned amusement resort called “Hotel Transylvania.” This hotel is designed to provide a safe place for monsters to relax, far away from the human world.
The plot of the film revolves around Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler), who is the owner of the hotel and a father. He is hosting his daughter Mavis’s (voiced by Selena Gomez) 118th birthday party at the hotel. Mavis has always lived at the hotel and has never been to the human world. She has a dream of leaving the hotel and experiencing the world for herself.
Everything changes when a young human named Jonathan (voiced by Andy Samberg) accidentally stumbles into Hotel Transylvania. Dracula tries to keep Jonathan away from Mavis, but soon he realizes that the young man isn’t as bad as he initially thought. Jonathan and Mavis start to like each other, and Dracula has to balance love and safety.
The plot of the film follows Dracula’s attempts to prevent Mavis and Jonathan’s relationship, but at the same time, it raises questions about friendship, prejudice, and the importance of family. June dives deeper into her search, but instead of finding answers, only more questions arise. Mother’s secrets are gradually revealed and June realizes that she never really knew her mother.
